Located in Lusail’s marina district, Rosewood Doha rises spectacularly from the water’s edge, its two distinctive towers marking the meeting point between the Arabian Gulf and Qatar’s city of the future.
Inside, the region’s culture and design traditions come through strongly in the earthy colour palette, finely crafted furnishings and artworks. We used light to accentuate these layers of detail, helping to establish a strong sense of place, with plenty of warmth and ambience.
The two towers feature a mix of guest rooms, suites, apartments and branded residences, with the latter housed in the larger 40-storey tower. Across these spaces, decorative luminaires provide much of the visual character. Architectural lighting is discreetly concealed within the joinery and surfaces, preserving the views and allowing the distinctive patterns of the coral-inspired façade to soar.
In keeping with this philosophy, we kept the lighting soft and indirect within the Asaya social wellness club, promoting a sense of calm throughout. In the multisensory bathhouse, for example, diffuse lines of light form a gentle glow across the floor. These hidden fixtures also ensure the natural graining of the stone doesn’t go unnoticed.
The three-storey podium linking the towers is home to private event spaces, including the elegant Bridal House. Here, we curated a balanced composition of light for intimate gatherings and photography sessions. Cove lighting produces a soft and refined backdrop that is subtly offset by decorative table lamps, floor lights and a sculptural floral pendant at the centre.
