Lakehall, Nena’s Sanctuary

Sophisticated warmth

Lost in the Filipino landscape, Lakehall at Nena’s Sanctuary is a multipurpose destination venue that effortlessly harmonises with the surrounding nature. Blending with the warm tones set by the peaceful backdrop, and Cardy Papa’s sophisticated interior design, the calming lighting solution accents the materiality of the building and scenery alike.

Guests are drawn into the soft embrace of the arrival hall by curved walls of stone. Bathed in an easy glow, warm light drifts up the layered walls, setting a welcoming tone, hinting at the soft expressions of light to come.

A pergola escorts guests from the entrance through to the main function hall, where suspended pendant globe lights act as a wayfinding solution. Uplights accent a living plant motif, setting a scene that is synonymous with the natural themes throughout.

The main function hall can be divided into three separate rooms, with contemporary wooden panelling acting as dividers. A seamless line of cove lighting lines the periphery of the room, framing a ceiling of integrated downlights and feature pendants that celebrate the height of the space.

Travelling through to the rear of the long hall, a veranda bathed in a gentle glow transports occupants back to the natural world. Suspended can lights illuminate the threshold of the building and provide a subtle illumination that infuses with the nearby scenery.

Continuing the journey along a stone path towards the lake, low-level totems of light work as a diffused wayfinding solution without detracting from the generous views of the lake beyond. The lawn holds clusters of wired seating integrated with uplights, creating beacons for guests to congregate and relax on.

Natural stone benches incorporated into the hillside are reinforced with integrated linear profiles to create an amphitheatre of light. With every step from Lakehall’s entrance down to the water’s edge, guests are accompanied by considered lighting that elevates its surroundings, making this a prime location, one of tranquillity and calm.
