This landmark Kensington development sets a new standard for high-end living and needed a cohesive site-wide lighting strategy to complement the overarching design narrative of refined luxury.
From the outset the considered approach to illumination is clear: low-level exterior lighting accentuates boundaries and planting, while expertly guiding residents into the warmth of the reception area.
Inside, the interior design has a palette of earthy tones, lustrous materials and handcrafted details. Our design response to the reception, stairway and lounge was deliberately subdued with luminaires only illuminating key elevations and artwork, adding depth to the space and preserving the beautiful polished plaster ceiling. The seamless reflective ceiling flows throughout the public areas and naturally draws both natural and artificial light. In the lounge area a deliberately large pendant softens the expansive space and provides a touch of intrigue.
Below ground lies a sumptuous swimming pool and spa, seemingly connected to the outside world through an artificial skylight running its full length. The crisp “daylight” over the pool is juxtaposed against the warmer tones of the lighting scheme in the spa, where integrated spotlights in the ceiling create a walkway of soft, warm light.
