We designed a lighting scheme exuding warmth and understated elegance for Ellington Beach House, an exclusive collection of apartments and penthouses on the east crescent of Palm Jumeirah.
Designed by RSP Architects, the beachfront property is defined by smooth architectural lines inspired by yacht contours and an earthy palette of natural materials. Our lighting concept reflects this design sensibility with a calm, refined and beautifully detailed approach. Each space is softly enveloped in light, creating an atmosphere that feels luxurious yet relaxed.
In the reception area, the lighting reveals the material richness of natural stone and wood finishes. Light was grazed on the walls highlight texture and contrast, while recessed downlights and minimal spotlights bring focus to the reception desk, enhancing its warmth and presence.
The lighting narrative continues through the adjoining lobby and co-working spaces, reinforcing the interior design team’s focus on tactility and craft. Gentle layers of light accentuate joinery, mirrors and decorative objects, while functional illumination remains discreet, ensuring a cohesive and soothing visual experience.
In the kids’ play area, a twinkling ceiling and playful pendants aim to spark imagination. Diffuse lines of illumination frame doorways and shelving, adding definition and warmth without overpowering the design.
The gym takes on a contrasting tone that is cooler, sharper and more dynamic. Clean lines of light animate the space, their reflections bouncing through bronze-tinted mirrors to amplify rhythm and energy.
Across every environment, our approach was to craft lighting that complements rather than commands, enhancing materiality, form and function to create a timeless sense of comfort and sophistication.
