Iliana initially studied Interior Design and Architecture and after an enlightening conversation with one of her professors, she progressed to a Masters in Light and Lighting at UCL. She loves art of all kinds; performance, photography, and of course the visual difference lighting can make in any arena.
For Iliana, light on its own is special, but when integrated with architecture, it morphs into art. She believes that highlighting the little details or influencing psychological mindsets is where the fun of lighting design is truly at.
Gardening and nature help Iliana meditate, it’s her time to feel calm and connected to the world. Her mantra is to light creatively, she’s always utilising light to generate atmosphere and when it comes to plants and flowers, she see’s them as natures art and using them to cast beautiful shadows is a true passion of hers.
