Creating an environmentally friendly and cost effective lighting design solution for the Nike Manchester United stadium store was a challenge we were ready to tackle.
The low energy retail environment of approximately 15W/m2 is a 50% reduction compared to the store’s previous scheme and even though we reduced lighting levels, the emphasis on the famous football club’s merchandise wasn’t compromised one bit.
The products, like the players, take centre stage with increased illumination levels highlighting the apparel. Simple track and spot luminaires on the main floor create a natural flow to the space, and with 25% of original luminaires being recycled we definitely scored when it came to meeting the brief.
