An opportunity to train in lighting design with our London studio.
At Nulty we are continually dedicated to excellence in our industry and we set those standards high, starting with our fantastically-skilled designers. This year we have built an apprenticeship scheme that offers the opportunity for curious and creative minds to flourish in lighting.
This two-year programme is designed to give aspiring creatives real hands-on project experience with a recognised qualification: Advanced Diploma in Illumination Engineering.
Here’s how it works:
Four days a week you’ll be part of our award-winning London team, learning the ropes on live projects and getting stuck into everything from creative concept design to CAD drawing, 3D modelling and photometric calculations. You’ll work alongside and be mentored by designers at every level, so you’ll get that full view of the profession.
One day a week is dedicated to the classroom, where you’ll dive into the theory of lighting design with some of the best academics in the field.
Full details about how to apply are below:
Paul Nulty, our Founder, puts it best:
“You can only learn so much from theory, the magic really happens when you’re solving creative challenges on real projects. That’s why we’ve created a programme that blends classroom knowledge with on-the-job experience, giving apprentices the best of both worlds.”
Ellie Combs, Managing Partner of Nulty London, adds:
“Every designer remembers that one mentor or team who gave them their first big break. This apprenticeship scheme is about creating that supportive environment for the next generation.”
Whether you’re just finishing school or college, or you’re ready for a career pivot, this scheme is open to anyone with a genuine passion for design, creativity and the built environment. You just need to be eligible to live and work in the UK.
Applications are now open and we look forward to welcoming our very first cohort of Nulty Apprentices.
