Lighting Design

In the new edition of the Interior Design Yearbook, Ellie Coombs discusses how collaboration across the whole lighting industry is so fundamental to the circular economy.

We’re all on a fast-learning curve to design more sustainably, with immediate and meaningful action needed. Ellie highlights an instant and simple step that lighting designers can take on every project: reducing consumption. An independent lighting designer will always consider the quality of light rather than the quantity – not everything needs to be lit. Ellie talks about achieving this in our designs, how clients are challenging and supporting us in pushing boundaries and testing new approaches, and how we’re seeing a renewed emphasis on creating classic designs to ensure longevity.
