As a child, Damla dreamed of becoming a ballerina and spent six years training in dance, inspired by her love of music and movement. Her educational journey ultimately took her down a different path, leading her to gain a BA in Industrial Product Design from Istanbul Technical University before completing a MA in Interior Architectural Design. Instead of a career on the stage, she found her place in the studio as a lighting designer, where she now brings the same qualities that underpin a great performance – discipline, precision and emotional expression – to our lighting schemes.
One of our most knowledgeable lighting designers, Damla’s expertise spans hospitality, residential, commercial and large-scale masterplan schemes. Her design philosophy is rooted in the art of integration, and she is passionate about creating spaces where light is skilfully embedded into the architecture and every detail is thoughtfully implemented. For Damla, lighting design is all about precision and expression; each element shaping how people experience and connect with their surroundings.
