In short, since studying for his MA in Architectural Lighting Design at KTH, Stockholm, Thanos has become a self-professed ‘lighting geek’. He studies every space he walks into, assessing the light, it’s levels and quality, taking note and applying his learnings to his own work.
As a Grecian, obviously nothing compares to his national food, and anything homemade tops the list when it comes to his favourite meal. A lover of the countryside, he also loves to escape to the Greek mountains and explore natural light phenomenon in his environment – living up to his name as a lighting geek!
Not ignoring the love of sketching and drawing that underline his designs, Thanos’ favourite part of the job is connecting a space to its users through light; this is the key to good design, after all, ‘a wall is a wall that can be easily ignored if left in darkness’.
