The Art of Dining is exactly that: a blank canvas in the form of a dining table where designers let creative geniuses flow. Their only brief: to be bold and adventurous, and create an unforgettable experience for guests.
We assisted Gensler on the lighting scheme for its table, making the “desert dining” vision come to life in the Rosewood’s ballroom. Through the use of opulent crystals and black polished materials the idea was to replicate a starry, atmospheric night above the sands.
The table was positioned on a circular platform, outlined with a wash of crystal “dust”. From the bottom up, the glittering edge helped frame the table installation, and with cleverly positioned fibre optics, the crystals glistened beautifully.
Another standout feature was the chandelier made up of 40 Preciosa triangular crystals, illuminated with high CRI Soraa lamps recessed into the black polished ceiling. A wireless Casambi control module was installed, allowing the Gensler team to adjust the lighting from their smart phones during the course of the evening.
